Hi there,
Hope someone can be of assistance! We have a small ensuite with no natural light. We are having a problem with moisture and black spots appearing on the roof and down the walls. The paint has started to peel and is generaly looking awful. I plan to wash scrape dry and repaint this weekend but am afraid we will be in the same situation again a few months down the road. The house is an eight year old semi detached and the bathroom is on an internal wall. There is an extractor fan but I'm not sure how good it is!
Please help |

Light is not the issue here , it's the air quality. The extractor fan must not be strong enough to take away the steam from the shower. Try and upgrade that and leave the en-suite door open as much as possible , especially when not in use.
To get your walls and ceiling back in order , you need to wash down the walls with Fungicidal wash. Allow this to dry overnight. You should then apply a Health spec acryllic emulsion. This will be washable and decreases the chance of mould regrowing on the surface. Give the walls and ceilings a wash with a sponge and luke warm water if you see some growth re appearing at all. Regular maintenance is easy maintenance |
