ensuite problem

we have a leak coming on to our hallway ceiling from our ensuite, at the same time we decided to completely revamp our ensuite as the old shower enclosure and tiles were falling apart, a guy came and said that he would be able to fix the leak and redo our ensuite for us as well, it turned out however that he did a great job installing the new shower enclosure and tiling but he did not fix the leak and it got ten times worse when we used the new ensuite, we are convinced now that he wasn't a plumber and did not know how to fix it so we need someone to come and fix the leak (- which is now running down the hallway walls ) but plumbers we've contacted are reluctant to fix it and keep saying we need to get the other guy back to fix the leak, this is pointless though as he didn't do it in the first place, we are getting him back to sort out everything else- has anyone any ideas?
