|

Hi, we have brass doorhandles on all our doors inside the house. The only this is they've started to turn green! Does anyone know of anything that would bring them up nice and shiny again? Apparently Brasso won't work on them for some reason - maybe because they're not real brass? |

Don't have the answer to your problem, but you might try Knobs and Knockers on Nassau Street for some advice. They sell lots of brass stuff |

Don't know how to clean your brass door handles, but I've seen stainless brass door furniture in the Handles&KnobsDirect shop on the buyandsell.ie website. |

Mix some flour and white vinegar in a cup and rub on to knob. Buff off later. Try on inconspicuous area first.. |

You can also try Coke, that stuff is so acidic, it takes off anything! Mix it with some baking soda until you have a paste, paste it on and wrap a plastic bag around it, secured with an elastic. Do try it on a hidden area first to get an idea of timing!
That mix cleared my door knocker beautifully - I did need to scrub a bit more with a firm toothbrush, but it's great now!
Hope this helps! _________________ Marion Hermannsen
